A report by the Audit Commission, the financial watchdog for local authorities, has reduced the Tory-run County Council's scores this year. Use of Resources, one of the most important judgements on the council, fell to 2 out of 4.
Andrew Duff, leader of the British Liberal Democrat MEPs reacted to the announcement this morning that the British Conservatives had just formed a political grouping in the European Parliament with partner parties from seven other Member States as required by EP Rules.
Last December, Conservative run Dacorum Borough Council decided to close and demolish Berkhamsted's well-used Gable Hall next to Victoria School in Prince Edward Street. Why? Because, they claimed, it could cost "over £70,000 to bring it up to modern standards".
n Tuesday the Liberal Democrats at County Hall announced their Shadow Cabinet. Unfortunately these will no longer be issued on County press releases due to a change of heart of the Conservative administration.
Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate Sandy Walkington has congratulated St Albans District Council on another glittering Half Marathon triumph. Sandy participated in the walking half marathon and his time of just under three hours allowed him to finish ten minutes ahead of Dominic Easter, the main half marathon winner - "but it helped starting two hours before Dominic!", Sandy said.
On June 4th, in the recent Hertfordshire County Elections, Nick Hollinghurst was re-elected as County Councillor for Tring and the Villages following a well-supported campaign. A dedicated group of activists and councillors co-ordinated and worked with a team of helpers and supporters across the division - at nearly 20 square miles one of the largest in the county.
Watford households have been overcharged more than £9.4million for gas in the last year - over £200 per household - Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Watford has revealed.
